The brand Laformela was established in 2009 by three fashion designers: Antonin Soukup/Czech Republic, Miroslava Kohutiarova and Katarína Ravasová/Slovakia. The three designers have gained experience in traditional handcrafting of textile and women clothing during their undergraduate studies at the Technical Univeristy of Liberec, Czech Republic. After successfully graduating, all three designers moved to Prague, where they have been developing LaFormela. Miroslova finished her graduate degree in atelier of Clothing Design at University of Tomáš Baťa, led by fashion designer Mária Štraneková. Design of women's clothing is characterised by its broad spectrum, deep content and desire to experiment with a combination of traditional handcrafted materials, such as pleat, print and knitting etc. The inspiration often has it's roots in paintings, cinematography or nature. The essence of Laformela's design philosophy is in it's womanhood and tenderness contrasted with dignity. In 2010, LaFormela presented the first collection FW 2010/2011 at the international fair trade„Styl a Kabo“. This experience have reaffirmed the designers in further cooperation and working on new projects. In 2011 and 2012, Laformela was selected to present their collections FW 2012 and SS2013 at Shooting Fashion Starts 12 and Mercedez-benz Prague fashion weekend. Positive recognition and succes has further enabled them to present the collection SS 2013 at Mercedez-benz Malaysia Fashion week. The brand delivers its customers individually customized clothing via Laformela website and Facebook. Designers are living and working in Prague/Czech Republic.
